- Even though the courses are nationally recognised are you Centrelink funded?
All courses are Austudy Approved
- How do I get funding for the course, doesn't the school organise it for me?
For school based traineeships the school must contact Conwal & Associates directly. Fees for courses offered under traineeship basis are paid for by the Government. However, there are specific criteria that must be met.
School based traineeships are available for the following qualifications.
- Certificate II in Local Government
- Certificate III in Local Government (Health and Environment)
- Certificate III in Local Government (Regulatory Services
- Does the course fee include everything?
Course fees include all learning resources and administration required for course of study
- How do I go about getting work experience?
Conwal & Associates does not organise work experience. However, a number of our students have been successful in gaining voluntary work experience by writing to the organisation and informing them of their course of study and availability to perform voluntary work. For example, Students studying Teachers Aid have gained work experience at their local schools.
- How long is the security training for, and is there places to stay nearby?
All training is competency based and therefor the time taken to study depends upon your commitment and availability to study. However, security training workshops for the practical elements of your training are usually over three - five days depending upon what is required to be completed. Workshops are arranged near public transport and main town hence accommodation if needed is usually available.
- Do I talk to a tutor that is a specialist in the field of my course?
Yes! All courses have specialist trainers and assessors who hold formal and specialist qualifications within their field of study.
- How does RPL work? What is the process?
RPL is a process of recognition of prior learning. To apply simply complete the RPL pre-assessment form on the website! Upon completion you will receive confirmation of possible RPL. You may then submit your request with your enrolment form into the course of your choice. Upon enrolment an RPL application kit will be forwarded to you for completion. The RPL kit will contain helpful and example information to assist you. In addition, a trainer and assessor will contact you to discuss your RPL.
- Is this course Centrelink approved?
All courses are Centrelink approved. Centrelink require you to produce confirmation of enrolment. Hence, once you have enrolled into your course of study you will need to request a letter from Conwal & Associates student support for Centrelink confirming that you are undertaking a course of study.
- Can I get Austudy?
You must contact Centrelink with your personal financial circumstances to see if you are entitled to Austudy. However, all courses are Centrelink approved and therefore if you are entitled to receive austudy, Centrelink require you to produce confirmation of enrolment. Hence, once you have enrolled into your course of study you will need to request a letter from Conwal & Associates student support for Centrelink confirming that you are undertaking a course of study.
- What course will get me a security licence?
Certificate II in Security Operations and Certificate III in Security Operations will assist you with obtaining your security licence. However, Conwal & Associates currently only offer the Certificate III in Security Operations to obtain a security licence. This is because employers have confirmed that they require prospective employees to hold a certificate III level as opposed to a certificate II level qualification.
- Can I complete my course early?
Yes! As your course is competency based you can complete it a quickly as you like. However, you must ensure you undertake all the study requirements and assessments. All assessments must be completed competently to obtain your qualification
